Filmmakers

The judging, selection & scheduling process is now complete. Selected filmmakers will be receiving several emails from BIFF to the name & email address of the submitter. If you want another address to be used for detailed communication, please submit is as soon as you are notified of your selection.

Basic communication from us:

1. Congratulations! Pack your swim suit – you’ve been selected for Big Island Film Festival. Pay CLOSE attention to what we need from you. Most importantly is an immediate confirmation that we may screen your film (no new distribution rights in effect). Plus a high resolution photo (as you might use for a poster) which represents your film. If you’ve included photos in a press kit by disk or through withoutabox.com then you’re covered. Our program goes to print within 1 week of your notification. ACT QUICKLY.
   
2. Travel information for selected filmmakers. We will send you a fax number for hotel reservations at a special filmmaker rate, car rental info, and information about the tickets you will receive as a selected filmmaker plus how to get additional tickets at a reduced rate.
   
3. Spread the Word. We will send you a template of a press release for you to use with your local news media to share your selection. A BIFF Laurel will be sent for your use.
   
4. Details for those attending. As soon as you make the decision to attend BIFF let us know. We will contact those attending with detailed information to make the trip as easy as possible.

Create a file for BIFF communications – we will not place specific info on the website. Please respond to our requests as quickly as possible – there are lots of you and only a few of us.
